For us jewellery is more than an accessory. It holds meaning, tell a story and becomes part of your own identity.

Aza Laye brings together the rich heritage of Touareg silversmithing and the simplicity of contemporary design. Rooted in tradition and shaped by a modern perspective, we create timeless silver jewellery that connects cultures, celebrates craftsmanship and stands the test of time.

A HERITAGE OF CRAFTMANSHIP

For generations, Tuareg artisans have developed a distinctive tradition of silversmithing, deeply rooted in the history and culture of the Sahara and Sahel regions of North and West Africa.

Through intricate engravings, symbolic forms and techniques passed down through generations, their jewellery carries the knowledge, creativity and heritage of its makers. What began as an expression of cultural identity continues to inspire new interpretations in contemporary design.

“Aza Laye” comes from Azalai; the word used for ancient caravans that once crossed the Sahara, carrying salt, silver, and stories.

We changed Laï to “Laye”, short for Abdoulaye, the Touaregco-founder of the brand.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CRAFT

At the heart of Aza Laye is a close collaboration with the artisans who bring our designs to life. Their knowledge, skill and creativity are essential to everything we create.

Our aim is to build a lasting collaboration that values their craftsmanship, supports meaningful employment and creates opportunities for the next generation. By bringing their work into the world of contemporary jewellery, we want to contribute to keeping this remarkable tradition alive.
